The business comprises six main areas; reputation management strategies; corporate and brand narrative development; risk, issues and crisis management; political and regulatory affairs; financial and investor relations; as well as coaching CEOs and their leadership teams.

Reputation campaigning
Organisations that place trust and reputation at the heart of everyday decisions and actions are those that will succeed. Improved reputation unlocks competitive advantage and sales growth. Funds are raised and missions accomplished. Trust is won and minds are changed. The threat from competition or regulation subsides. Recruiting and retaining talent becomes easier. Importantly, forgiveness is more easily won when things go wrong. 

Building or protecting reputation to unlock value requires intelligent campaigning. We blend smart strategic insight with limitless creativity to help organisations and brands tell stories that get heard and overheard in a way that audiences don’t just listen to but remember and act upon.

The campaigns we develop and deliver are designed to occupy the mix of channels that best influence different audiences: consumers, businesses, politicians, regulators, investors, NGOs or employees. Public affairs
The Teneo Blue Rubicon Public Affairs team has unrivalled expertise in government, regulatory and public policy issues. We provide in-depth analysis, strategic experience, and political expertise that helps clients navigate the sometimes treacherous and always uncertain world of public policy. Our team has many years of accumulated experience in Parliament, the civil service and think-tanks, and we have advised chairs, chief executives and senior management on major political issues.

We support clients with everything from senior strategy to hands-on implementation, and do so for some of the world’s largest and best-known companies. We have an exceptional research team and pride ourselves on our ability to get under the surface of day-to-day issues to develop strategies for success. We help client teams prepare for political meetings at senior government level, select committee appearances, and dealing with the political media.

Above all, we remain totally focused on the need for public affairs activity to support business aims, objectives, and the bottom line.


Financial communications and investor relations
Our financial and corporate communications practice advises a range of clients across different sectors, sizes and geographies, both publicly listed and private. Our expertise helps boards and executive teams to optimise their reputations and communications within the global financial community and those who influence it.

We advise companies on what they should be saying, how they should be communicating it and who they should be targeting. We often act as an intermediary between our clients and the media and investment community, utilising our long-standing relationships and networks.

 

Strategy consulting
Our strategy consulting offer is designed to deliver answers to the biggest questions our clients ask us – questions such as how should we define ourselves, how can we turnaround our reputation, what is the material impact of reputation on our organisation? We believe that big decisions should be taken on the basis of robust evidence and clear objectives around protecting and growing business value.

We have a team of experienced consultants who are equally confident and fluent in working with data and insights, behavioural economics, strategy consulting and leadership coaching, to answer the most challenging questions for clients.

We can demonstrate that our work makes a material contribution to sustained superior growth, sector differentiation and improved valuation.

 

About the graduate development programme:
The programme started in 2006, since then 68 graduates have started their careers with us. The programme offers the opportunity to work across the services provided by Teneo Blue Rubicon, with training and experience in strategic consulting, reputation management, financial consultancy, political and regulatory advice and communications campaigning.

Our approach is different and provides great opportunities for people starting out in a consultancy role. If you join us as a graduate, you’ll have a chance to work for some of the amazing companies we are proud to have on our client list. These include Facebook Tesco, Accenture, Coca-Cola, eBay, Nissan, Instagram, McDonald’s, AstraZeneca, National Grid, O2, RBS, the RNLI, Mondelez and Diageo.

 

What you will learn
You will experience the learning opportunities that come with life in a fast-paced consultancy.  Our aim is to give you the best possible training and development opportunities and the investment we make in your learning is considerable. If we think you have the talent to join us, you’ll be an integral part of the team from the outset. Yes, there's lots of hard work on the way but if you are determined to succeed, we're determined to help grow your career from day one.

The 12-month programme will begin in September 2018 with two intensive weeks of training. You’ll learn how our company works as a consultancy, meet a variety of people within the business and learn skills that will be needed for your new role as a Trainee Executive. Beyond this, you’ll receive regular training sessions throughout the year, to ensure you are constantly developing and flourishing within your role. Throughout the programme you will be fully supported by the graduate development team, as well as your direct talent manager and buddy.

 

What we look for
Graduates with:

  • A genuine interest in the work we do and our areas of focus, whether that be reputation management, strategic communications, public affairs or  financial communications or all of the above.
  • A proven ability to take the initiative and show determination to succeed
  • An ability to pinpoint insight that leads to intelligent and creative problem solving

 

Application:
Three steps to success

 

Step 1:  Intellectual curiosity
Complete the application form – all fields are required. This will be hosted on the careers page of the Teneo Blue Rubicon website.

On the form, you will need to include a statement of no more than 400 words demonstrating your thirst for knowledge. This needs to cover how in your everyday life you seek out knowledge and new experiences, and what insight, learning, and different ways of looking at the world have you gained from these experiences? We also want to know how you share that knowledge with those around you.

Remember we are looking for intellectually curious people with a passion for problem solving, insight and creativity. At this stage, we want to hear about you, your interests and achievements to date. Later in the process we’ll ask you to tell us what you know about our company and the industry.

Application forms sent without the ‘thirst for knowledge’ statement will not be accepted.

Closing date: Friday, 26 January 2018, midnight

Step 2: Understanding and passion for reputation management and communications
About 10 days after the closing date, we will contact the candidates we would like to invite to the next stage – approximately 50. If selected, you will then be asked to:

Provide a short written (150 words max.) or 2-minute long video response (MP4 format) to demonstrate your understanding of the sector and the challenges and opportunities you see for communications.– It might be helpful to think of an example of an interesting piece of work or a campaign you have heard about and why it worked well.

We will then invite 35-40 candidates to come to our offices to learn about us, our work and our clients. This visit will also provide an opportunity to meet our staff and the graduate team. You will have a short interview, engage in a team exercise and we will try to answer any questions you may have.

Step 3:  Assessing potential
Of the candidates who impress us most, 15-20 will be selected to attend a full assessment day. The purpose is to simulate as closely as possible some of the activities you will be involved in if you join us. At times, you will be working in groups and at others individually. The only thing you are required to prepare in advance is a presentation in response to a selection of topics provided to you seven days beforehand.

You will find out whether we want you to join our team a few days after this final assessment day.

Start date: The candidates we invite to join us will start in early September 2018.
