The Institute is our international centre of excellence in the theory and practice of strategic reputation management.

Three areas of focus

  1. Setting objectives for reputation strategy that truly align to growing and protecting business value, identifying where choices and trade-offs need to be made
  2. Defining a core strategic argument that will persuade your audiences and deposition your competitors or critics
  3. Building the right capabilities to deliver the right strategy: from coaching the most senior leaders to designing a communications function that can execute the chosen strategy. 

All Institute work is founded on, challenged by, and developed through our own empirical research. For over a decade, we have conducted more than a thousand interviews with C-suite, Board and function leads to understand how reputation affects value in different business models and sectors and how companies are building organisational capabilities to manage reputation in a way that builds value. 

We carry out qualitative research with the public and stakeholders, experimental-style quantitative opinion polls, and analyse media data to identify concepts and narratives that move attitudes and explain issues. A benchmarking programme run with dozens of leading companies and organisations, coupled with learning from a 15-year pedigree of campaigning on behalf of the world’s largest brands, equips us to define and describe best practice for reputation management and recommend tailored approaches for achieving different reputational strategies.
